Job Description
Under the supervision of the Plant Manager and/or the Foreman, the Stacker Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the stacking line to ensure consistent, optimal production that meets company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the stacking line and maintain a steady, productive feed.
- Ensure that the lathing process is performed correctly.
- Ensure that samples are representative and free of errors.
- Unblock boards caught in the production line when required.
- Ensure the correct lumber strips are available and in sufficient quantity to meet production needs.
- Notify the Foreman if board dimensions appear non-compliant.
- Ensure work is performed safely, in compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) laws and company regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
- Work closely with other operators and members of the sawmill team.
